There has arguably been no better time to be a Ford performance car enthusiasts than right now. The sixth-generation Mustang carries on with the updated version of the venerable 5.0 liter V8 that debuted on the 2011 Mustang, but surrounding it is an all-new chassis loaded with features and technologies designed to help you go fast in the coolest and most comfortable way possible.

That’s just the tip of the performance iceberg too, as the all-new Ford GT just went on sale, boasting a 3.5 liter twin-turbo V6 cranking out over 600 horsepower. And who can forget the all-new, Focus RS which is being hailed as the second-coming of the hot hatchback. The video above pits the Focus RS and Mustang in a Blue Oval drift battle.

It’s difficult to tell what kind of Mustang it is we’re looking at, as the Focus RS driver is antsy to get on the Silverstone track, giving the gas pedal impatient stabs that result in the trademark muffler gurgle Ford worked into its hot hatch. Judging from how easily the Mustang moves around its line though, we’re going to guess it’s the 430 horsepower V8 at work in this video.

Yet we have to say, the real star is the Focus RS and it’s Drift Mode feature, which sends a majority of the 2.3 liter EcoBoost engine’s 350 horsepower to the rear wheels. This allows even amatuer drivers to feel like Ken Block or Vaughn Gittin Jr., while making the all-wheel drive RS a more versatile performance car. It’s certainly capable of keeping up with the Mustang GT, giving Ford enthusiasts a wide range of performance options that most automakers just can’t keep up with.
