We’ve probably all have a brief dream or two about what kind of auto executive we would be, and what cars we would build, if we were in charge of a company. However, for a handful of lucky (and hardworking) men and women, that dream comes true, putting in their hands all the cars and resources that come with a multi-billion dollar company.
But the best perk by far is access to a cadre of cars. Ralph Giles, CEO of the SRT brand of Chrysler, that means he gets to get behind the wheel of cars like the Dodge Charger SRT8 at a whim. Redline Dodge posted this video of Giles taking MotoMan on a trip around the Willow Springs track in the Charger SRT8 while discussing the goals of the SRT brand.
George Notaras of MotoMan was the lucky participant of this spirited ride around the track with Giles, who is no slouch behind the wheel. Giles, once CEO of the entire Dodge brand, has been given something of a promotion in running the SRT brand. He has a lot of good things to say about his new boss, Chrysler/Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne, and he talks proudly about keeping the SRT group of engineers together and the “freakishly good” relationship between the engineers and executives.
We gotta admit, we like how Giles looks at cars from a performance standpoint, about how to make it faster. We can appreciate that outlook and after watching this video, we feel better about Giles as CEO of SRT, and the 2012 Charger SRT8 as well. Give the video a watch, if for nothing more than some great shots of the Charger tackling the track.
