This could either be one of the coolest things you’ll see today, or possibly one of the most irritating, frustrating and ire-raising footage you’ll see today; it just depends on whether you think the new 392ci Gen III HEMI-powered Charger SRT8 is cool or not, and whether pitching that overpowered sedan through a drift course is equally as awesome. If neither of these pique your fancy then you might not like what you’re about to see.
Under the tutelage of Dodge Motorsports, Samuel Hübinette Racing built the only 550-horsepower 6.4-liter 392 SRT8 Dodge Charger equipped with a trick manual gearbox and a quartet of Sparco racing seats beneath a full roll cage, along with a set of Willwood brake calipers just for the e-brake.
The ’11 Charger was built in Hübinette’s Newport Beach, California, shop, painted in matte black and surprisingly remains – apart from the aforementioned modifications – mainly stock.
While the SHR drifters Samuel Hübinette and teammate Dean Kearney showed up at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for their regularly drifting circuit, Hübinette chose to debut the Charger – dubbed the “Drift Cab” – giving demos to fans.
