Video: Street Justice Takes Down Car Thief Who Crashed At Stop Light

chase1Let’s face it: nobody likes car thieves, not even car thieves. It’s guaranteed that if someone stole a thief’s car, he would be pissed. But thieves don’t really care what happens to the car they steal, unless they’re doing a gig like Gone in 60 Seconds. But if they end up in a chase they just don’t care if they wear out the tires or blow the engine because it’s not their car.

What typically happens after a chase is the thief crashes the car, especially if they get into a high speed pursuit during rush hour traffic. As we pick up the video above, we see a newer Dodge Challenger cruising at a high rate of speed down the highway and we are told it’s a stolen car. He’s being followed by police through a couple of neighborhoods with the media locked on. And then it happens.

As the driver approaches an intersection where traffic has stopped, he shows his intelligence by trying to squeeze between two stopped cars and he doesn’t fit. He slams into a minivan and an SUV and stops dead in his tracks as the other two vehicles roll forward. Then it happens, part deux.

chase4The minivan driver, Jessica Liesmann, checks on her 13-year-old son, and then she and her boyfriend exit their smashed minivan and approach the driver of the Challenger. Liesmann has some words for him, is she asking if he’s okay?

Nah, she and her boyfriend wail on the thief and throw him to the ground a couple of times. Meanwhile, her kid exited the vehicle also and seems to have had his clock cleaned pretty well as he falls to the ground writhing in pain.

And just as the police show up to apprehend the beaten suspect, Liesmann checks on her son and then comes back and appears to shout at him again for good measure as the cops are all over him and locking him up.

chase5We probably don’t have to warn you that you never know what you’re up against when faced with a situation like this, so it’s probably safer to let the police handle it. As it turns out, the suspect did have a gun with him.

But then again, in the words of Tom Cruise in Risky Business, “Sometimes you gotta say what the _____ and make your move.” The suspect was taken into custody, and Liesmann’s son was checked and released from the hospital with minor bumps and bruises. The Challenger, not so much.
