Wouldn’t it be nice if trucks really had the power to pull out partial trees from the ground? It would make yard work for many people a lot easier. While little stumps or remnants of bushes might be able to be tackled by an ordinary truck, it’s not every day that a pick-up is able to completely uproot a five-or-so feet tall chunk of tree. Posted on Jalopnik.com on May 9th, a video shows such a feat being accomplished by a full size Dodge. While it sounds like a ridiculous thing to shoot a video of, the end result is rather impressive.
The video is less than a minute long and shows the Dodge accelerating away from the tree to uproot it. While it takes a couple good tugs to get the tree completely out of the ground, it doesn’t seem to phase the truck much. While the rear tires come off the ground a couple times due to the tree’s resistance, the trunk is pulled completely from the ground and out of the front yard in a matter of about 20 seconds. It doesn’t hurt that the Dodge being used is a diesel.
While the tree pulling is rather entertaining, the music that is played in the background of the video makes this feat that much better. Who knew that techno style beats could be used to up the entertainment value of this primitive use of a truck.
