There are muscle cars and then there are competition-eating, fire-breathing, modified modern muscle cars that can only be properly described with a gasp and jaw drop. This Vortech and Comp-equipped Charger SRT-8 is such a vehicle.
While poking around on the Comp Performance Group’s website, we found this amazing car hidden among the other vehicles featured in the “Winners” section, but it didn’t stay hidden for long. As part of the Fastest Street Car magazine’s 2008 Project SRT8 Charger feature, we just couldn’t help but to take a closer look at this Vortech and Comp-equipped behemoth of a Dodge.
The Comp Performance Group acknowledges its many dedicated customers through a “Winners” section on their website. This gives automotive enthusiasts and Comp Performance customers a place to show off the results of all the hard work that has gone into their project cars or the results of seat time at competitions.
Anyone who has any Comp Performance Group parts on their vehicle can submit an image and information about their ride and those that are approved will be posted on Comp Performance Group’s website as well as in the “Winner’s Circle” section of all the associated companies’ Facebook pages.
This particular Winner that we came across is definitely worthy of the title. Owned by Dimitri Cretikos, this modern Dodge Charger SRT8 is more than the eye can see. It is fitted with a 7.0L 426cui HEMI engine with a Vortech T-trim Supercharger, Vortech Maxflow Racing Bypass Valve and Competition Specialties port and polished heads, as well as a port and polished intake manifold.
The 9.3:1 compression engine also features a custom Comp Cam Blower Camshaft, Comp Cam springs and retainers, K-1 Technologies H-Beam forged rods and 4340 forged crank, Wiseco custom Reverse Dish forged pistons, ATI damper and Mopar Stage III Injectors.
The engine is matted to a Southern Hotrod High Torque Capacity Race Transmission with a ProTorque converter and a Phantom Grip Xtreme Limited Slip differential. The suspension is beefed up with KW Variant II Coilovers and Hotchkis swaybars. To top it off, the Charger is also equipped with an MSD Ignition system, AEM digital AFR and Boost Gauges, Kooks Long Tube headers and a custom Flowmaster exhaust.
There is no doubt that this Charger is one mighty beast and certainly a prized procession of Cretikos’. We knew that Vortech and the Comp Performance Group produced some amazing products but we never fail to be amazed by the potent and daring rides that these companies support. Congratulations to Cretikos, Vortech and the Comp Performance Group for a job well done on one killer Dodge Charger.
