When it comes to replica cars, we’ve seen quite a few popular car kits, most notable the Shelby Cobra. With the desire for classic musclecars growing by leaps and bounds these past few years, being able to build your own “brand new” musclecar from decades past has become a reality for many enthusiasts. Tomorrow, you’ll be able to add the first generation Mustang to that growing list of cars.

Being unveiled tomorrow at Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, Revology Cars out of Winter Park, Florida, will introduce us to a truly unique musclecar that you can build as a brand new car – some 50 years later. Revology’s founder, Tom Scarpello says that his 1964-1/2 to 1966 Mustang replica is a postmodern interpretation of the original Mustang.

In a press release earlier this week, Scarpello said “It is easy to see why the original Mustang is a classic. Fifty years later, it still looks great from any angle. But automotive technology has advanced a lot in 50 years, and from a functional perspective, these old cars are truly outdated. At Revology, we keep the style and character of the original car, while seamlessly integrating modern technology and materials to improve performance, safety, reliability, and comfort.”

However, instead of replicating the original classic, Revology Cars has improved upon some of the classics components, such as the instrument cluster. The electronic cluster has LEDs and a message center for the driver. Also add: power windows that operate by lifting up or pushing down on the replica window crank.

Under the hood, a modern 5.0L powerplant with EFI will take the place of the original, and a completely new suspension will handle the chores of providing the car with far better handling and a more comfortable ride. The front will be a MacPherson strut setup, with a three-link setup in the rear. Stopping the replica Mustang will be a four-wheel disc brake setup.

But all these creature comforts like power windows and locks, keyless entry, and a tilt column, to name a few, will come at a steep price: $119,500. Granted, an all original Mustang can fetch a pretty penny and not even come close to performing as well as the Revology Cars replica. With other Mustang clones, like the Equus selling at a quarter million with only a resemblance of the orignal, will this replica from Revology find its mark with enthusiasts?
